Hello John. Excellent news on the 5760 station ! Regarding the TR751A,
there may be two modifications that you may wish to think about.
1) The stock TR-751A is 25 watts or 3 watts out using the HI/LO button. By
opening up the rig and lifting a two pin connector, this disables the HI/LO
switch thus preventing you from doing something dumb. You can set the drive
for whatever it is that is needed and then forget about it.
2) I have modified my TR-751A to inject +9 vdc on the RF out put line and
then modify the DEMI transverter to use its PTT-H. This eliminates the
"extra" PTT control line as PTT is completed over the IF coax line. Its an easy
mod that requires brief surgery on both the TR-751 and the 5760 transverter.
You can still use the TR-751A for other applications if you so wish.
It would be easier for me to do these mod's for you rather than to explain
how to do them. If you want, you can give me your TR-751 & transverter and
I'll make the mod's for you ... it will only take an hour. You can still add
the power amp yourself as you have discussed .... I know little about that.
73, Jon
