Hello NLRS land.
The ARRL website has the June VHF contest write-up. The individual score
database should be released soon.
Congratulations to the NLRS for placing fourth in the nation out of the
twenty-one clubs in the Medium Club competition. We placed 20 logs and a
total club score of 605,675. We did move up one notch from last years
June contest because the Society of Midwest Contesters (SMC) generated 55
logs this year and moved into the Unlimited Club category. Badger
Contesters placed 7th with 11 logs and CVVHF placed 4th in the Local Club
category with 5 logs. Congratulations to SMC, Badgers, and CVVHF.
Hats off to N0KP and N0VZJ who finished 6th and 9th in the nation in the
SOLP category, KM0T for his 4th place in the nation in the SOHP class, and
W0ZQ/R and W9FZ/R for their 6th and 7th place finish in the nation in the
rover class (but certainly higher in the non-grid circling rover class !).
Looking at MN only, the top five SOLP stations were N0KP, N0VZJ, KA0PQW,
W0JT, and W0PHD. The top two SOHP stations were W0GHZ and K0AWU. N0EO
was are only Limited MultiOp, there were no Unlimited MultiOp nor Portable
QRP logs, and W0ZQ/R and KC0IYT/R finished one two in the rover class.
If you look at all 20 NLRS logs, we made the following number of QSOs by
band during the contest: I also reported the percentage of NLRS stations
with that band ( % ).
6m = 1,379 ( 100 %)
2m = 667 ( 100 %)
222 = 216 ( 55 %)
432 = 395 ( 90 % )
902 = 105 ( 35 % )
1296 = 154 ( 55 % )
2304 = 65 ( 25 % )
3456 = 62 ( 25 %)
5760 = 40 ( 25 %)
10G = 82 ( 45 %)
No contacts were made on 24 GHz and up. Not surprising to see the near
100% participation on 6m, 2m, and 432. After that, 222 and 1296 were the
most popular with 11 logs (55%) reporting QSOs on those bands. Then came
10 GHz with nine logs, followed by the lower microwave bands of 2304, 3456,
and 5760. However even these bands had five active stations ! Anyone
looking to expand their stations capabilities should take a close look at
this .... the good news is that there is at least some activity on all
bands.
73, Jon
W0ZQ
