Well folks, murphy (note the lowercase "m") strikes
already.

The A-3 is not going to be in the air. 2...count
them, two sets of mast pipe decided to bend or crack
when putting it in the air. The antenna is all right,
but the masting is not good. I did not want to ruin
any more of the 5 pieces I took up, so I put the 6, 2,
and 432 yagis up 25 feet of pipe and raised the G5RV
for HF. Otherwise things look okay other than a
strange whine in the radio on any band and does not
change when dialing. Gonna check it out on different
sources, and see what it may be tomorrow. It's going
to be irritating otherwise. So here is the breakdown
so far of the setup:

Location: Rhinelander WI. EN55
(don't know the 6-digit bit, but aim just 3
miles East of Rhinelander)

Modes: SSB/CW

 80 meters thru 10 meters:
Rig: FT-1000D
     FT-101ZD
     (100-150 watts)
Antenna: G5RV at 25 feet in inverted v/almost flattop
config...(ends at 10 feet up)
I may be able to work 160 Meters if I push it.

50, 144, & 432 Mhz:
Rig: FT-726R

50: 150W brick into a 2 element
144: 150W brick into a 7 element (1/2 of my 14 el.)
432: 100W brick into 2/3 of a 25 el. K1FO

Hopefully things will stay kosher and work well.
So far the forcast for this area is looking decent.
We did have pea to grape sized hail today for about 15
minutes...almost had to shovel dad's deck.

If by some chance I can get the A-3 up on another
pipe, I may have gain, but that is doubtful. Here's
where I wish I had a heavy duty pushup pole...or even
my trailer tower...no hitch on the car yet.

Anyhoo, hope to hear a a bunch of you on one band or
another, and I hope the setups will be doing better
than mine has been doing. Good Luck all.

            Dave...N9TTX
will be running 1B this weekend.

I modulate, therefore I am!
               ...73, and all that jazz,

                 Dave...N9TTX
