I guess we'll be doing some very minimalist roving this weekend!
We're going to be camping at Goosberry State Park on the North Shore. I'll
take the FT-817 with me, and see what I can do. I'll probably just put up a
dipole for 6 meters, which will probably load up on 2 and 432, and hopefully
radiate a little bit. We also have a mobile 2 meter FM rig. I don't know
when I'll be on, but I'll probably put out a few calls on 146.55, and then try
other bands. It looks like that's EN47, but I really don't know for sure.
It's about 10 miles NE of Two Harbors. I couldn't find a very good resolution
map.
Also, I'll keep the mobile rig on 146.55 on the way home. If you're booming
in, I'll also try to have the 220 handheld with me, but I won't have any other
bands mobile.
Can someone tell me approximately where the boundaries for grid squares are as
I'm driving along I-35? It looks like we'll pass through EN47, EN37, EN36,
and EN35. If someone happens to know the mileposts and/or landmarks where the
boundaries are, that would be very helpful.
We look forward to handing out at least a few QSO's. IIRC, the campground is
at a fairly good QTH, so hopefully if there's someone on the other side of the
lake, we should be able to work them.
