For a number of years, we've held a summer antenna picnic in July. Last year (2006) we decided to forgo it because of our involvement with the CSVHFS conference. Looking at the calendar for THIS year, it looks as if Saturday, July 14th is the day! (The 7th falls into "4th of July" for a lot of folks, and the 21st will have a lot of us leaving/getting ready to leave for CSVHFS. The 28th IS the conference in San Antonio, so....)

The 14th is also the day of the monthly breakfast, so there is a touch of "either/or," but this hasn't been a problem in the past especially if we advertize the fact.

We'd get together at 9AM in Mounds Park in St Paul and do 1.3 GHz and up antennas. Tune/match 10GHz feedhorns (an maybe 5.7GHz if there are any). About 12 noon move to the top of the hill and grill a dog or burger or two. Maybe test some equipment over to the Capitol overlook, or down the river valley, or beyond. Make plans for the August and September weekends of the 10GHz Contest, or maybe even Rovemania.

In the interest of not dragging everything AND the kitchen sink along, it would be nice to have a idea of bands and antennas/feeds you'd bring. If you're interested, please drop me a note (wa2voi_at_arrl.net ... DON'T do a 'reply' to this message) to let me know band: (902, 1296, 2304, 3456, 5760, 10GHz), and what: (antenna for measurement, feed horn for tuning, ???) Sorry, not doing VHF antennas (2m, 222, and 432MHz)

Bob, W0AUS, may not be able to make it, but he will trust us with his equipment (if we promise to be careful with it).

So, any interest ? Should we plan on doing it on Saturday 14 July ?
