Hello NLRS land

Just a reminder that the Minnesota QSO Party is this Saturday, Feb 3, from
8:00am to 6:00pm local time. The contest exchange is very simple, its your
first name and your county, such as "Jon Carver". The station that you are
working gives you their first name and their state or province, such as "Paul
New York". You can also work other MN stations. In that case, you both
exchange your name and county. Pretty simple, pretty fun. Full rules can be
found at http://w0aa.org/mnqp.htm by clicking on MNQP near the top.

Those who want to play on VHF, all the bands are open. Just get on and
call "CQ Minnesota QSO Party". For those who may be interested in playing on
HF as well, most of the activity will be on 20, 40, and 80m. There could be
some action on 15m in the afternoon if the band opens, plus you can always
pass locals up to 10m for additional Q's too. All the bands are fair game.
For SSB, look on 14270, 7250, and 3850. For CW, look on 14050, 7050, and
3550. The mobiles will be signing their calls with the county that they are in,
for example W0ZQ/HEN . The three letter county designations are listed at
the above website.

If you have any interest, look for your humble President as a HF mobile on
40m or 80m CW, close to 7050 and 3550, from twelve different counties during
the contest. I plan to be in each county for about 40 minutes and I plan to
visit 3550 +/- QRM at each stop.

Looks like it will be a cold weekend, a good time to park one self in front
of a warm radio and have some fun. If you make a few contacts keep a log
and send it in .... paper or electronic. Make sure you indicate NLRS on your
log. If you have any questions, ask.

73, Jon
W0ZQ/m

MN stations will be looking for your participation in the Minnesota QSO
Party being sponsored by the Minnesota Wireless Association (
http://www.w0aa.org/mnqp.htm ) on Saturday Feb 3, 2007 beginning at 1400 UTC. Join the fun!
