The First contest of 2007 okay for VHF/UHF but still this one was laid back after last year festivity. If memory is correct this one was a little warmer and snowier then last year. In fact KC0IYT/r last year had to wear gloves to log. This year was the year of the SDR-1000 Flexradio and boy it was so nice to SEE the other operator with out spinning the dial, Just Point and Click and say I SEE YOU lets work. Okay conditions was really strange on all bands. Like on two Bill K0AWU I always heard him and times listening to him he would just disappear and the Microwave bands, just to much work to make a Q. Lots and Lots of Morse Code " Its still alive and WELL " after looking at my log it was around 35 percent of Dah Dit Dah. Back to the band conditions, most of Sunday I just left the beams pointing towards EN61 and it was like a two minute cycle the noise floor would rise and minutes later all quiet and out of nowhere I would hear a EN50, EN51, EN52, EN53 and EN61. You would establish contact in voice and had switch to CW and minutes later back to voice this was the mode of operation for 6 to 432 for that evening. My score is about the same from last year with less rover, but made up for it by being patient to conditions. TNX to everyone I work and see you at AURORA 2007. 73's NØKP
