Hi Gang!

If your not aware yet.... www.vhfdx.net has made an update to
their site. Esp. now that it has Estimated MUF tab.
Great for 6 Meters DXing. And when it really gets going.... check out
the 144 and 432 MHz tabs.

REMEMBER..... If you do not post your contacts.... Then the web page
is not as help full...... In other words.... When I see activity on
this web site..... I will scan the band from 50.100 - 50.300 on USB of
coarse.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to hear your comments on the Solar Flux Index reports.

So if when the SFI is like 70 what does this mean for you & me?
I used to know this stuff but forgotten how to use it.

Someone told me when the SFI was at a certain number.... then
it would mean try using a particular ham band.... Since I do not know
at the moment.....

So like when it's at 50.... Go try 40 meter DXing
60.... Go try 15 meter DXing
70.... Go try 6 meter DXing
110.... Go try 2 meter DXing

Again.... I made this chart up. But at one time, I used to follow it
when I first got into ham radio. I tried doing some searching on the
web..... looking for this information... But I was not successful in
finding the answer to my question.

Now there is two others. The "A" and "K" indexes. I think the
"A" index was added not that long ago to the report. When I used to
follow the reports... it was only the SFI and the "K" index. From what
I can remember... the "A" is like what it was 15 mins. ago.... and the
"K" is what it is right now.... Just not sure.

Or..... Was it.... SFI = Low numbers and "K" = High numbers,
means great HFing and not so good on VHFing & Etc. And.... SFI = High
with "K" = Low means Bad HFing and great VHFing?

Since I haven't seen any one talk about this for some
time...... What are your thoughts on the Solar Flux Index reports?
