[NLRS] A Very Pleasant Surprise

I called DEM on the 9th and asked Sandra about sending my 1296 xvtr in
for "rejuvenation". She told me that they had a 2 month backlog on
repairs and that they would try to get it back to me before the June
contest. I mailed it on the 10th.
On the 16th, I became aware of their closing operations in New Jersey to
move to Florida and that they would consequently be unable to accept any
repair jobs received after the 13th. On that same day I received
notification from FedEx that a package was on the way from DEM. Oh oh, I
thought. My xvtr didn't make the cut.
The package was in my door when I got home last night. This morning I
unpacked it and found that the xvtr repair work had been done. I can't
easily check it out because the IF rig is in another repair shop. (I've
been having a bit of a run on equipment problems lately.)
My stated problems were poor noise figure and LO calibration. I can't
wait to see how it works now. I'll let you know on the air when I find
out. Again --- very pleasantly surprised this morning.
