That should work Scott.   

Here  is another way.   I use a heavy duty utility knife, or box cutter, to  
score (sp?) the outer metal jacket all the way around the  circumference.   
Then hold the UT-141 just below the score mark very  gently with a good pair of 
pliers (so as not to crush the UT-141), and grasp the  area that you are going 
to remove with a second pair of small piers and gently  rock it left and 
right 10 degrees or so.   The jacket should break  where it is scored and then you 
just pull it off.   After that, you  can use the box knife to cut and remove 
the inner insulation as  needed.   Its pretty easy.
