This was a good one. Even though there weren't the
opennings we had in June and July, it was a good
contest. We covered quite a bit of territory this
time. We went out into EN15, EN14 and EN13 to see
what it would be like. Even though it was a long ways
from the Twin Cities, I felt we had a good chance at
contacting a bunch of people. The big surprise was
finding a couple of locations in EN13 and EN23 that
were dynamite. I want to thank everyone that were
there when we got to each grid, particularly N0KP,
N9TTX, KF0Q/R and N0VZJ. The prize does go to Vince,
N0VZJ though. We made contacts on 4 bands from 10
grids except for EN45. We did not get a 432 contact.
I could hear him but he couldn't hear me. The 432 amp
that I had ordered didn't get there in time, otherwise
that would have made the difference. I also want to
thank my antenna rotor and logger Mark, AI0Z for his
help. It was fun running into KF0Q/R in EN33 and
having an eyeball QSO. Bill, K0AWU, I called you from
every grid I was in, but we only connected from a
couple. I thought maybe I woke you up that one time
you came back from one of my calls. :-) The long
distance contacts go to N0UNL/EN10, KA9FAJ/EN40,
N8LIQ/EN56 and K2DRH/EN41.

Summary

Band Qso's Qso Pts Total Grids Wrkd
50 48 1 48 14
144 91 1 91 18
222 49 2 98 11
432 58 2 116 12

Grids Activated 10

Totals 246 353 65 = 22945 pts

I had a great time and was really tired when I got
home last night as a few of you might have been able
to tell as I was driving on 694 getting the last few
contacts in EN35.
