Hello NLRSers and BCers,
Might there be any interest in a "group buy" of Mitsubishi 902 MHz RF
Modules, part # RA20H8994M?
These are a nice little module for the band, three-stage MOSFET amplifiers,
"rated" for 20 Watts out with 50 mW in. Here's the datasheet link from
RFParts.com http://www.rfparts.com/pdf_docs/RA/ra20h8994m.pdf
The modules can be biased to be linear (it even says that ON the datasheet)
and it is my understanding that these are the same modules that DEMI uses in
their "new" series of 902 "High Power" Transverters and 902 PAs. It is also
my understanding that these are easily capable of 30W PEP output PER module
(and that is consistent with DEMI's ratings).
RFParts "list price" on these is $71.25 and I would hope to get that down to
$65 (or lower) with a sufficient quantity buy and I understand the "best
shot" for maximizing discount is if 10 (or more) are ordered.
As a comparison...I was involved in a group buy for the similar 1296 modules
(Mitsubishi RA18H1213M), where RFParts "list price" is $78.25, and with a
purchase of 10, the group buy coordinator is able to pass the few "extra" he
got of THOSE for $65 (including shipping to you). AND, if anyone might be
interested in one or two of those 1296 modules, I believe some ARE still
available, I can get you in contact with the person who has them. ALSO
available from this person are the PC Boards to "connect" the modules and
provide the Vdd and bias voltages as well as "50 ohm" RF in and out...these
are $10 each from him so consider THAT "need" as well if you are thinking
about purchasing either of these modules.
If anyone is interested, please let me know by Sunday evening, 11/19.
73, JK
