[NLRS] question of transverters vs radios

Greetings

I have thought about the SDR1000 option feeding
transverters
in the shack.  My long term goal is to have external
xverters
for 6 through at least 1296 and then pick the IF
radio.
I do have the DSP10 kit which could act as the 144mhz
if
for the microwave bands and then use some other rig
for
the V/U bands.  The TenTec Orion is on my wish list.
Until then, there are options for the 10M IF - either
the
resident Omni V, the Collins KWM2 or use a separate
10M 
exciter for TX and the R390A.  So anyway, Im keen
on the idea of splitting the transverters from the IF.
 
DSP is in the plan which would lead to either an SDR
option
or use an 'analog rig' or just get the Orion (drool,
drool...).
