Hello NLRS Land

Very few changes to this weekends plan for the ARRL 10 GHz & Up Contest.
Just a few more details added here. Both the rover group and the fixed
group continue to look for any and all newcomers. Observers are welcomed
as well. We do have a few loaner rigs available ..... drop me a note if
you are interested.

CONCEPT: One fixed site located close to the Cities working one rover
pack moving through southwest and south central MN in the 170 to 220 km
range. The emphasis will be on many rapid fire SSB QSOs with upwards of
15 rover stops per day. If conditions are poor, the rover pack moves
closer, etc. We will be using 10368.100 SSB only (although we can not
rule out the need for CW).

OFFICIAL START/STOP TIMES: (However, join us anytime you can)
Saturday - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Sunday - 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

FIXED SITE DATA:

Saturday, August 19 : The church located just east of Lonsdale on MN Hwy
19. Directions: South on 35W to MN Hwy 19 (Northfield exit). West
on Hwy 19 about seven miles. Just east of Lonsdale watch for Garfield
Ave. Its a left turn (south) only, its on top of an obvious hill, and
there is a church on the south side of the road. Talk in as needed on
146.46. Easy to find.

Sunday, August 20 : Buck Hill in Burnsville. Directions: South on
35W. Go past Buck Hill on 35W and exit on Cty Rd 46. Turn right (west)
on Cty Rd 46, then right again to head north on Buck Hill Rd. Take Buck
Hill Rd north (it parallels 35W), past Buck Hill again, to Green Haven.
Turn left (west) on Green Haven going up the hill a short block until it
meets up with Burn Haven. Take another left and head south on Burn Haven
...... within about 200 feet, on the left, you will see an area where trees
have been removed and there is a dirt access road that hops the curb.
This is the new Buck Hill access road. Turn in ( left) and proceed up the
dirt access road. Go slow as there are some pot holes, etc. If its dry,
its easy 2-wheel drive access if you go slow. Proceed up the dirt access
road until you come out on the south side of the hill where the new fill is
being added .... it will be obvious when you see it. Easy to find.
Talk in as needed on 146.46. Things to bring (other than your dish):
Sun screen, bug repellent, hat, change of cloths, coat, snacks & food,
water, water, water, and computer or paper log sheets.

Ask questions if you have any. As I said, we are looking for more
activity from all 10 gig operators. Come out and play for the full
contest, or come out and play for just a part of it. The rover group is
especially interested in finding more members ..... unfortunately for me
this year I need to stay close to home so I will be active for at least
part of the time with the fixed group. Those who are interested in
seeing what 10gigs is like, stop by and check it out.
