I went to the Burnsville Hill this evening to play a little bit on the
microwaves with rain scatter. Gary, WB0LJC, was on from EN35 and we worked each
other on 10 gig CW and then FM after peaking off of a rain cell to our west.
I then was able to work Mike, KM0T, in EN13vc, on 10, 5.7, and 3.4 GHz.
The distance was only about 187 miles direct, but we had peak up off of the
same rain cells to my west, to his north, near Madison, MN, in EN15. The
interesting thing about the contacts were that they were all backscatter and the
three band contacts with Mike were at an angle of about 85 degrees. Signal
levels on all three bands were 55 to 59 .... very good.
