A modest effort from home. It's always interesting to see what I can work off the balcony. This time I had omnis on top of the bird feeder (432) and up in the tree (222). While they were at about 30 feet, they don't clear the roofline, blocking everything on the eastern half of the compass.

I had short beams out for the four bands I operated as well, they were on a shorter mast -- topping out at about 25 feet above ground.

I was able to switch back and forth between beams and loop and eggbeater. For the most part, I left the beams pointing to north and northwest, with swings to the west from time to time.

I managed to log 67 Qs with 29 multipliers. The only rover from the TC area I had a chance to work was W9FZ. We got three bands in Saturday night from Bruce's stay in EN52 near Dodgeville, WI. Mike, WB8BZK/R was a mainstay around here. The Great White Father of roving in these parts, WB9SNR was also out, shaking off the cobwebs. I managed to catch KF8QL/R when conditions were up a bit to work him on the Michigan side of EN63. Given my antenna situation he was doing all of the work. Best DX may have been EN44 with N9TTX.

Conditions weren't anything to get excited about. With the beams pointed at Chippewa Valley and NLRSland most of the time there were only a few peeps heard. I heard one EN44 station (I didn't get the call) mention that he hadn't worked anybody outside of his own grid. I heard you in EN61 -- for a few seconds.

The log has been submitted -- it was only rejected by the robot once! My 6900 points are going to SMC this time. We are going to miss September (son's wedding) so while we'll be on from home from time to time it looks like January before we get out in the rover again. Best of luck for everybody next month and in the 10GHz.

73, Tim K0PG
