It was fun! I got tired at the end :-) .
Highights: Many. Working KC9BQA 4 times on 2304. Working more
rovers this year than last. Working MANY more 10GHz QSO's this
year. Worked K2YAZ from 2 or 3 grids again this year. Worked
W0GHZ from 2 or 3. Worked KF9US/R from 2 grids. Worked W0ZQ from
2. Worked WA9O from SEVEN grids on 10G. Many Q's with Twin Cities
on first day. Very few on 2nd day.
Lowlights: Not working KM0T. Conditions must have gotten bad
between 6:30 and 8am because I cq'd endlessly ( :-) ) pointed
right at the Twin Cities for 45 minutes straight from EN-54 and
not a peep out of TC (till the moment I'm enroute to EN-55). 1296
equipment not working. I opened it up and solder joint of the
power-combining semi-rigid had sheared from vibration. Nothing I
could fix on the road. Hope the modules survived :-)
I'll work up my score on this 4-day trip upon which I depart in
the morning. I also want to work up a graphic of the 10G qso's I
made.
I enjoyed working many folks I had recently seen at the
conference. Longest Q was EM-48 to work KO0Z (Ron Ochu) who was
at the conference.
Of all the contests I've been in, this was one of em. It
accomplished my main goal of giving me a dose of RF :-) . And I
had fun! I probably should not have gone to EN-44 for 30 minutes
at the end. I did not handle the flurry very well.
Thanks to all who worked me! I hope to have 1296 fixed by
September!
