The weekend approaches. The Concordia High-Altitude BalloonSats group
is prepping for a launch.
The plan right now is for a launch on Saturday, April 8, at 10:00am CDT
(15:00 UT). We will launch from 12 miles south of Valley City, at the
Duppler farm north of Kathryn, ND (46d 44.940 N, 97d 58.9 W).
Primary frequencies: 145.700 MHz, APRS
144.390 MHz, APRS (PocketTracker)
We will also plan to fly the simplex repeater, but the frequency for
that has yet to be determined (something on 70cm). Expected burst
altitude is 80,000+. We are flying only a 1200g balloon, so I don't
anticipate it reaching 100,000'. Right now the weather looks marginal
at best, and with the flooding situation here in the Red River Valley,
there is an even chance it won't happen this weekend. I'll keep
everyone posted at conditions change.
We desperately need help at the launch site, so if you are interested,
let me know.
