Finally got the log finished up and ready to send off to the league. Here
are the final numbers:

86 Qs x 41 multipliers = 352,600 points.

Operators: N0AKC, K9MU, W9RAY.

Of the 86 Qs, 3 were on CW, the other 83 on JT65. Thanks to Justin for
bringing over his computer and rig blaster that enabled us to run JT65.
This is the first contest that a concerted effort was made on this mode. I
have to say, JT65 is an incredible mode. We made a lot of contacts on this
mode that would otherwise never have happened. My two favorite contacts
were SP9TTG and KL7UW. SP9TTG was my first ever contact on EME with Poland,
but the amazing thing is Peter was running a 4 x 5 element array and 100
watts (a barefoot IC-746). And he was not terribly difficult to work!
Peter even seemed very surprised that we were able to work. KL7WU had a
bigger antenna (2 yagis) with a 170 watt brick. He had a very strong signal
on JT65.

We worked lots of one and two yagi stations, a number of which had no
elevation. The bottom line is, if you have a decent sized yagi and 100 -
200 watts, and are JT65 capable, I suggest you give the mode a try. You
might be amazed at what you can work. You may not work someone like SP9TTG,
but there are many stations my size and larger and they are VERY workable.

Some of the other highlights of the contest:

ZL1IU (1st ZL on EME)

VK2KU (1st VK on EME)

XE2AT (1st XE on EME)

SP9TTG & SP6GWB (1st & 2nd SP on EME)

K0AWU (MN), W8LON (MI), AA9MY (IL)

17 states

62 new initials

This is by far the best effort ever on EME at N0AKC. The previous best was
in 1998, when I made a total of 46 Qs. Back then they were all on CW. The
funny thing is, had Justin not wanted to come over and operate, I probably
would have not even bothered getting on this year. After trying JT65, I'm
now going to go out and get myself a rig blaster and a better computer and
get more active on EME again! It has been a long time since I have had this
much fun on EME. Now I am already looking forward to next year's contest.

Charlie, N0AKC
