[NLRS] Tale of two hurricanes (was For Sale: TRIPP LITE PR-60 48 amp cont. , 13.8 VDC regulated supply)

Now if this isnt a story, I don't know what is ;)

On my birthday, Jeff posted the forsale message below......I replied the
next day and told him I was interested in the unit. Made plans to go by the
bank and get a Money Order or Cashier's check but the bank is not convenient
to me (that's what I get for moving from Houston back to Beaumont and
staying with BankofAmerica) and then Katrina came along and my work took me
into LA for the next two weeks (our company mobile data circuits were by
MCI...and ran right through New Orleans..OUCH!). In the meantime, I finally
got the money off to Jeff....and he packed up the supply ready to be shipped
(but alas, the shipping place was not easy for him to get to after work!) 

Finally, the package was in the mail and on the way....and along came
Rita!!!! Sure enough, all mail got held up into our area of SE Texas because
of Rita (we are still cleaning up from it now!)...and two weeks later, it
showed back up at Jeff's door as undeliverable! Jeff and I had been in
contact all through this and it gave a little humor relief to the hurricane
issues ;) He let me know and waited a week to make sure the mail was getting
through and to make time to get by the shipping counter.

Well, I am happy to say it finally made it to my office last week and it
made it home this Friday (finally!) Next stop is my rptr/remote base site in
LA (HF-6mtr allmode rmt off a 220/440 site with UHF links to my other rptr
sites). Luckily Jeff and I had a good chuckle about it (2months for a PS to
get shipped? So much for absolutely/positively overnight ;).
I am glad the hurricane season is ending...(but today I got more news...my
landlord needs me to be out of the place by Feb 1st...oh great!!!)

Thanks to Jeff for a great deal on a big supply and for being understanding
in all this mess...I hope everyone gets a chuckle out of this story ;)
