Hi Guys

I have all plans of being active for the June contest on
6,2,222,432,1296 and 10Ghz from home as always.

I remain flexable for the 10Ghz and above weekends. My son's
family will be departing EN37ed to return to Corona CA the Saturday
of the first weekend. It would be possible to head for Ont or the UP for
that weekend, but of course it will be a bummer to miss their
departure. Wally and I had a great time last Sept and I am sure Wally
and I can expand the locations of operation this fall.

----

NEW development... I now have elevation for the 10Ghz tower
system. I have an old 3.5V Black&Decker cordless screwdriver
driving a 4 inch long 1/4x20 threaded rod, forming a jack screw. This
runs between the vertical mast on the DSS dish and the bottom of the
feedarm. I have things set up where I can vary elevation from -3deg
to about 12db over the horizon. In the shack I have a homebrew
controller that I built for the AZ rotator (a old CDR TV rotator) that
contains a DC supply for the jackscrew and CDR. Both AZ and EL
systems drive 5K linear pots that are used in a resistor bridge with
5VDC on them. They in turn drive LCD Digital Voltmeters in the
controller for digital readout in degrees. Works great.

Elevation control should allow improved rain/snow scatter signals
when the precip is close to me. Gary and I worked on RS again this
morning about 8:15am with 5-3 SSB signals, better than 2 meters at
the time.
