June VHF:
I will be on from home: ABCD9E for sure. If I can get the 10g stuff on the
tower, then I would have that band also. I also am trying to find time to
work on a pair of cavity amps that would get me up to 100+ watts on 902 &
1296. Unfortunately, the clock is ticking and things aren't coming
together. Too many other projects that have to get done before I can get to
the radio stuff. I will keep everyone posted. BTW, we would appreciate
some rovers over in this area, for anyone looking for a place to rove.
Western MN and NW IA grids are great, but we have lots of difficulty
clearing all the hills in those directions from here, especially on the high
bands.
Rovermania:
If I operate, it will likely be from home. Please note the rover comments
from above. Not that I am trying to discourage operations elsewhere, but
due to all the hills in my way, I can't hear rovers in southern IA. If all
the rovers go there, it's pointless for me to get on.
10G contest:
Once again, the first weekend is out for me. I would love to do a trip to
Lake Superior, but we will either be on a family vacation trip again, or at
my wife's high school reunion in Caledonia, MN. Wrong end of the state for
operating on Lake Superior.
Will keep everyone posted on any changes for June.
Charlie, N0AKC
