Hi all,
3 items of note;
I attended Aurora 2005 a week and a half ago up in St Paul MN, and had a
great time. Thanks to all the NLRS gang for hosting a great day!! John
K9JK, and Duane N9DG came along, and we had a fun time talking VHF, SD
radios and VHF contesting during the ride. The talks were wonderful,
with topics ranging from BPL, 10 gig scatter, and the ever evolving
Flex-radio (SD). I was hoping for a bit more stuff at the flea market,
as I brought extra cash this time, and remember that the last event I
attended had loads of goodies out in the parking lot; but, not so many
fleas appeared this year. The antenna measurement was going in full
force, and John had a 432 beam measured. BCers take note, try and get to
this event more often.
Item 2; I got a letter from the CY9SS DXpedition team (ST Paul Island,
off the east coast of Canada) They are looking for donations for their
month long trip, which will include a big 6 meter and 2 meter station.
Since out group has no formal dues, and depends on a pass of the hat at
public events, I will post their address here in a few days, and should
anyone desire, they could send a personal donation to the group. This
expedition is starting operations in early June, and runs into early
July.
Item 3: A few of the stalwarts have been getting on for the various
sprints, and upcoming this weekend is the microwave version, Sat the 7th
from 6 am to 1 pm. I will be on 1296 for sure, and I hope 903 also.
Liasion will be on 2 meters; 144.2 or 144.26 SSB has been put forward.
Let us know your plans.
I am still working up some ideas for our Bylaws.
