1) So far I only have one other person who is interested in a multi-op. I
know that Brent, KD5EMB, and I could run a multi-op, but it would be better
to
have a few more people to help. We've only got equipment for 222 & 432
right
now and an offer for some 3456 gear. Anyone else interested?!
My 902 may be loanable. Its not roverable as the 100 watt amp takes a
24vdc supply, plus its kind of more delicate (various boxes connected together).
For roving, I've borrowed GHZs "portable" 902". If you guys run a
generator, or have 110 vac, you could use it .... need to figure out a 2m IF rig as
I'll be using mine ..... any 2m multimode set to about 2.5 watts should be
fine. At a minimum I have my yardstick yagi for 902. From Buck Hill or
Fly Cloud, you could work a bunch of rovers with 100 watts and a short yagi on
that band .... 902 is more like 432 than 1296 (in my experience).
Anyone have a 1296 system that can be lent out ? If we could get these
guys on 222, 432, 902, 1296, 3456, that would be awesome ! Hope about a 10gig
loaner unit .... and maybe the owner to go with it ? Remember that
Rovermania is just 24 hrs ..... 1:00 pm Sat to 1:00 pm Sunday.
I also can loan out my IC471A, I think it does 35 watts or so all by itself
(there is a front panel RF power output control so you can throttle it back
if needed for an amp, etc). I also have a modified 424B (the Road Warrior)
.... think its a 17' boom .... that works very well. The IC471A has
Powerpole connectors on it for instance connection to 12vdc. Anyone interested in
borrowing it for Rovermania II, just drop me a note. Use it in a multi, do
a little roving, try 432 for the first time, I don't care as long as you work
me : )
