Here we go again! Another June VHF contest is quickly approaching. I will
be on my usual bands of 6 thru 432 from the home station in EN44ew as a
single op low power. If I can get my daughter on the air, I'll be a limited
multi-op. It will be a full time effort so I am hoping for good band
conditions.
There have been no major changes to my home station compared to years'
past. On 6m a M2 6M7JHV @ 50 ft with 100w; on 2m a M2 18XXX @ 65 ft with
160w; on 222 a Cushcraft A220-11 @ 55 ft with 25w (possible 120 watts if I
can get the amp by the contest); and on 432 a M2 432-9WL @ 60ft with 50w. I
did add verticals last year on 6m and 432 in addition to my Cushcraft 215WB
beam on 2m for that FM mode rover or home station.
There will be almost a dozen stations on from the Eau Claire area including
2 high power multi band home stations N0AKC and KB9PJL. K9MU will once
again have the keys to the W0AIH/W0UC superstation on multi bands. All
three stations on all bands 6 thru 1296 and 10 Ghz! Many other home
stations will be on as low power with multi bands 6m, 2m and some with 432
as well as a rover or two that will be on from the region. Activity from
this area will be the high and worth turning the beams to!
Hope to work everyone this weekend!!
