N0DQS/R 222 thru 24 gig.
WA2VOI/R Yes, Donn may be back, yea !!!! He is planning a laid back
rover operation pending completion of some other projects. We need you Donn !!!
K9JK/R. John will working hard to make Rovermania II and if so, may go out
towards western Iowa to activate some new grids for his VUCC/R.
WB0LJC/R, or portable. Gary is giving consideration to activating a few
grids pending resolving his ground transportation issues.
W0ZQ/R: 222 thru 24g (222.150, 432.150)
I plan to repeat my rove from last year
Algona, Iowa EN33 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
EN32 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm
EN22 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
EN23 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Orange City, Iowa EN12 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm
EN13 10:30 pm to 11:15 pm
Lake Benton, MN EN14 1:15 am to 2:00 am
EN15 4:00 am to 4:45 am
Winstead, MN EN25 7:15 am to 8:15 am
EN24 8:45 am to 9:45 am
EN34 10:15 am to 11:15 am
EN35 11:45 am to 12:45 pm
How about K0NY/R, KB0THN/R, KC0P/R, W0AMT/R, and others ? The UHF is the
BEST contest for roving as you can leave the big antennas home, plus its just
a 24 hour contest. Give roving a try by activating a grid corner for a few
hours.
Multi-Ops
1) K9MU. The CVVC guys are trying to get a multi-op going at the W0AIH
contest site.
2) N0HJZ & crew. Looks like Buck Hill has given the team a green light.
The challenge will be to get a FD like set-up operational. If these guys
can get it organized, anyone with a FM handheld in the greater TC area will be
able to work them ! They should be able to work good distances on 10gig
too.
Fixed Stations:
Fixed stations are VERY important. We need you. If you have 432, please
get on and make some noise ! Activity is planned by N0KP, W0GHZ, K0AWU,
K0CJ, W0AUS, N0UK, KM0T, and many of the CVVC guys.
Other activities and notes:
1. N0HZ has sent a "press release" to the local FM clubs to be read during
the business portion of their nets. Everyone who is active in a local FM
club needs to talk this up with their local club ..... August 6/7, 223.5 and
446.000 simplex.
2. We will have a "watering hole" freq for random rovers to use. Anyone
who want to grab their yagis and head out for a few hours can try calling CQ
Contest on 222.110, 432.110.
As always, feedback is welcomed. Remember, talk it up with your local FM
club .... August 6 & 7, 1pm to 1pm, 223.5 and 446.00. Keep feeding me your
rover plans.
73, Jon
