Hi Duane,
For 6m and 2m ICE makes some nice filters that are inexpensive. I'm not
sure about the 2m version, but the 6m version is available in power ratings
up to 6kw. The 6m version also come in two flavors 50-54 and
50.50.5MHz. I use the narrow band 6m model and can barely copy TV CH2
video carriers at 55 MHz when the band is wide open. Insertion loss for
the narrow model is .5db, which has not caused me any problems on 6m EME
with no external preamp. Right now I just run the low power model and I
still have some grunge on 2m (but the antenna is only 3' away and I am
running 1500w). Eventually I will put the high power model on the output
of the 8877.
The small insertion loss should not be a problem for all but the most
serious terrestrial station and no problem If you are running an external
preamp. I think the IL of the wide-band versions are .2db from a previous
discussion with the manufacturer, but it isn't published on the website.
