"So, I challenge all NLRS reflector readers to earn 30 or more band-states
and earn a States Above 50MHz Program certificate this year. Begin your quest
now! Remember, no QSL's are required--just your best efforts at determining
the other operator's "state".

Hello NLRS land,

The Central States VHF Society has a long and rich history. Each year
their yearly conference is held in a different location. This years conference
is only a couple of weeks away in Colorado Springs, CO.

As many of you know, NEXT years conference, 2006, is going to be RIGHT HERE
in Mpls, MN. Now more than ever, the 2005/2006 season will be a great
year to participate in any, or all, of the major VHF operating events. At the
same time, if you don't enjoy contesting, if you haven't tried chasing
States/Provinces before, if you are looking for something to re-ignite your
interests in our hobby, give the States Above operating event a try this year and
lets have another great showing at next years conference right here in our back
yard.

The CS VHF Society website is located at _http://www.csvhfs.org/_
(http://www.csvhfs.org/) . About half way down the website you can find all the
information regarding State Above and how to play. Its pretty simple and
straightforward. There are downloadable forms that ease the simple log keeping
requirements (and in paper no less !).

PS, States Above also includes a Rover category.

73, Jon
