I dropped an email to Dan Henderson, N1ND, regarding my rover scoring
question. His reply is YES, I can count those contacts made in EN34 as
W0ZQ/R in my rover log, and those who worked me can count them too.
The rules do allow for a fixed station to also submit a rover log, that
much is clear. I speculate that these are viewed as two separate calls;
W0ZQ and W0ZQ/R, both good from EN34. I speculate that you also have to
show a roving effort with your roving log (ie; travel to two or more
grids).
Dan did mention that you need to send the logs directly to him in order to
get the contest robot to accept two logs from one call. As I found out,
despite purposely changing my call to W0ZQ/R and indicating ROVER class, my
rover log that I sent in to the dreaded robot apparently overwrote my W0ZQ
SOHP log (based on looking at the logs received page).
73, Jon
W0ZQ
