[NLRS] 2005 10 GHz 1st QSO

Gary (W0GHZ) and I hooked up on a local obstructed path via snow scatter  
this afternoon.   The path was only about 16 miles (EN34it to EN34lx),  but it 
represents a new path for us.   Gary was operating with his  home/tower system 
while I set up in my garage that faces NE.   Signal  were S5 to S7 and we 
worked with weak FM with some snapping and crackling  in the background.   
Listening to Gary's CW beacon, I could change the  CW pitch by about 500 Hz or so by 
swinging the dish in azimuth off of the direct  path that we were on.   My dish 
was elevated 10 degees but bearings  were very broad in both elevation and 
azimuth.
 
A good sign for 10gig's for 2005 !
