That's precisely the method I have used too.  Last weekend is a little 
different for me in that the only real off times were whilst the rover 
pack were eating on Saturday and overnight.  Therefore I show the On time 
both mornings, off times both evenings, and a break Saturday lunchtime.  
Even with that little detail my total operating time was still under 22 
hours and therefore fine in my opinion.
