[NLRS] Sept 10Ghz weekend planning

Good Evening All,

It was a very busy and fun weekend. Worked 38 contacts with many QSOs in the
200 - 275 km range. Spent alot of time coordinating the VE4 rovers time
trying to work NT0V. The tall building effort did not turn out very well
due to high winds and cool temperatures. It was also thwarted by another
tall building at one angle. The contacts to W0PHD and K0AWU were especially
satisfying but frustrating as the 2 m band was not very good for liason at
those distances.

A real moment of excitement was hearing N0UK at Sissiton appear out of a
Tropo fade for part of a 1 minute sequence on a dead band. Too bad we could
not complete.

For the next weekend I plan to have 24 GHz on the tower...probably the 30
inch dish fed with elliptical waveguide and the EME station including >100W
in the shack. I will put a 2 W portable together and would like to get ND
and MN in the log and as far as possible so that I can claim a VE-W
terrestrial record.~134 km....so maybe a W0PHD/ K0AWU operation?

I would also like to have some rovers going accross southern VE4 in the
prairies near the border and that might make more contacts possible with
W0PHD, K0
AWU and NT0V?

I really want to thank all involved for their efforts including K0AWU, NT0V,
VE3KRP, VE4CCW, VE4KQ, VE4TV & Joanne, and my old friend W0PHD....great job
and I hope you had as much enjoyment as I had

Best 73
Barry VE4MA
