[NLRS] Salvaging DirecTV RF Amps???

Greetings

I can not speak for this particular down converter but
I have pulled a similar dual polarity (H & V)
down converter with the intent of using one of the
amp chains - I would keep this in the metal enclosure
and use a .085 coax in and out (remember to add
a 1pf bypass cap in the rf path if needed). I have
converted regular LNBs to 10ghz amps with 1-2db
nf and 20db of gain. Not bad for the $5 investment.
Plus the diode can be used for a harmonic multiplier.
