Very enjoyable and fun two weekends with the 10 ghz contest this year....
First weekend to Wawa, Ontario with Bud & Bill..... The second weekend met
up with Donn, WA2VOI at Mt Tom....
Mt Tom is a great site with views to the horizon over at least 300 degrees
circular...Only problem is the long path up the hill, but I was successful
in not allowing Donn to notice I damn near passed out from exertion....but,
the little cart full of gear to push up the hill worked well (looked kind of
stupid. tho)....We worked about 8 hours from the overlook...then, stopped
south
of Kimball on the way back working the Sisseton group one last time...
Sunday, Donn went on to the southwest, but, I had some afternoon
committments
and only operated in the morning from the "old brickyard road" site 1/2 mile
south and one west of the Scott Co tower...
The old FORD showed about 1800 miles over the two weekends.....Hmmmm, let's
see...that's about 41 miles per QSO....but, enjoyable as Bud, W0LCP is a
good travel partner.
Managed to work 44 Qs with a total of 26 different operators......longest DX
was 285 km....total points 12,970....
Good memories....good fun....Thanks to all who took part!
