[NLRS] BPL vs WiFi ??

Hi all, I was reading a magazine (EDN I think) and there was a piece in
there that made me think about some of the spectrum issues that face us.
On the one hand BPL has been shown to radiate alot of noise on
frequencys <100 MHz. Some BPL though uses WiFi as a last mile (250
feet) leg.
I also read about how Chaska is going to set up a municipal broadband
system using WiFi to sell to people in town in the paper somewhere in
the last 2 weeks.

One question that arises is how do all of these people use WiFi at the
same time considering there are only 3 non overlapping channels at 2.4 GHz.

The other and more important question I think is, Won't this create huge
amounts of interfearance on the 2.4 GHz ham bands? I already am
receiving interfearance on 2.4 GHz ATV signals due to WiFi in the
neighborhood.

Why is there so much concern about BPL and the DC bands and seemingly
none about losing use of one, or some (eventually), of our microwave
bands???

Just a thougth that has nothing to do with contesting, or 10GHz ;)
