Hi All,

I tried rain scatter with K0AWU and W0GHZ. I first tried from my yard to
see if I could make it. Listened for W0GHZ's beacon. No Luck!

I then moved to Lexington Ave and Highway 96. Beautiful view to the North.
Heard W0GHZ beacon right away. Too much doppler to work ssb. Then
K0AWU beaconed and heard him about 5-8 degrees West on GHZ. K0AWU was
maybe a T-8 note. Good enough for ssb. Gave him a call. No go. Tried
cw. No Go. I decied there was something wrong with my output as they were
both S-6-9.

When I got home I checked the output of the amp----ZERO. Found the ppt
lead to the amp was off and put it on and good output.

Thanks Gary and Bill for trying. Any of you guys that are around should
try rain scatter. Get a local to point at the cloud as seen on the
National Wx. That will give a freq that others can zero and work rain
scatter. If the angle, like between Gary and where I was located is such
that the signal has a lot of doppler then try cw or FM.
