Hi all, Gene is in Mitchell, SD for the night. Will be going to Wessington
Springs in the morning. We had hoped that the weather - wind would die down
in time, but no avail. Its good now, but its also dark now...
So, we are trying 24 ghz in the morning again. For those wishing 10 or 5.7
ghz, give Gene a ring on the cell phone after 8:00AM.
As for John taking the plunge for 10 ghz, great news for all. Hope it goes
well for you John and that you enjoy the ride there.
As for 24 ghz info. Paul also has 2 watt mm-tech amps, but in short suppy
and on an as availble basis. I am using these my my 24 ghz units and they
work very well. In fact the dish that Gene has does 2.5+ watts and the one
Im using does 3.5+ watts. These have both been tested with two different
power meters, my HP and Gigatronics. Both power sensors are rated to 26.5
ghz and attenuators being used are also rated that high and have calibrated
out very close to their stamped value. So I am very sure that these units
are doing as well as they are. All measurements taken at the end of the
wave guide on the dish where the splash feed goes.
For the money, there is no better buy for 24 ghz. Just FYI.
73 and CUL - perhaps next weekend if I can swing it.
