I was headed down to Matts to put up his 222 yagi this morning and saw K0AWUs
post for 10 GHz rainscatter. Since I carry my dish in my car, it was a
quick 50 minute ride down to EN33, near Hope, MN, to set up and work Bill. I
stopped in EN33iw, set up the dish, and heard Bill and W0GHZ within a minute or
two. I completed with Bill (EN37ed) at a bearing of about 10 degrees (the
true bearing would have been 356 degrees) at a distance of 221.5 miles or 357 km.
Bill was 52/53 on CW then SSB. The Doppler was 6m Au like. I then
worked W0GHZ who was portable in Wisc, EN34, but his SSB signal was very distorted
and we worked on weak FM. I beaconed until noon with no other takers.

After that, its just a short hope down the road to Ellendale. We got Matts
222 yagi up and his 222 station installed. He can now hear my beacon. Look
for Matt from EN33 on 222 for the contest. We also got his 6m TenTec station
reinstalled and he is going to check out the spur issue that we have been
struggling with.
