Was hoping to operate the June test as rover but no go have had a great deal
of family issues to tend to that preclude even thinking about a serious rove.
To that end however; Jim, KB0THN and I have decided to put a last minute
multiop station on the air for the contest from EN44da (site of my January
operation just outside Winona, MN). As a minimum we will have bands ABCD most
likely will get 9 and E going as well. Our goal is to have some fun, generate
some QSO points for NLRS stations, and shake the dust off of the gear. Last
time we did this in 2000 it was a bit disappointing - so I guess if we start
out with low expectations then things should be fun.
We will use my call, KF0Q and will put up my usual antenna stack along with some
bricks for all the bands below 902. We will look for a watering hole somewhere
above the calling frequencies - otherwise search and pounce as well as seek
out the rover stations! (Hopefully with a little power we can raise some
attention this time out)
We plan to be on the air by contest start time and should be able to put quite a
few hours in for the contest duration. Scheds are welcome for nights and
morning if you are in a more distant grid.
I will send out an update of our progress Friday nite. Otherwise good luck in
the contest!
73,
Matt
