Hi Ray. My first 10 GHz system uses a Dish500. I did not have the
plastic feed arm extension, just the metal arm that extends forward from
the dish about a foot or so then stops. I made my own feed horn mount
that connects to the end of the arm. I can send you some jpgs from home
tonight. I followed W1GHZ's formula (see his website) for finding the
focal point .... I may have saved my measurements and if so I forward those
to you as well. Donn & others in the 10 GHz club can comment on the feed
point accuracy, but I think you want to be within about a 1/4" of slightly
better for optimum gain. One nice thing about the Dish500 (if its like
mine) is that the back side mounting plate is vertical (90 degrees) when
the dish is on the horizon.
Bottomline is that the Dish500 works quite well .... I'll send ya some jpgs
later today.
