posting for KB0THN:

Who: Jim KB0THN

What: Activing Madeline Island, Wisconsin on 5.7 GHz and 10 GHz (for the first
time?) to prepare for Rover Mania and potentially make a few QSOs.

Where: Madeline Island, Wisconsin - EN46ps

When: Friday afternoon through Sunday or Monday afternoon

Why: At the cabin relaxing, playing amateur radio, and doing SCUBA wreck
diving

I realize that a lot of y'all are going to be up on Toronto for the
conference, but I thought I would bring KM0T's loaner microwave station up to
my family's cabin and see if any of you wanted to try some 5.7 and 10 QSOs.
The best way to reach me and setup a sched is call the cabin phone at
715-747-2028, or if that doesn't work try my roaming cell phone at
515-231-2720. I won't really have any 2-meter all-mode, so we'll have to work
this out via telephone and use the GPS / computer to find compass heading.

My operating position will be from the deck of the cabin which is about 15
feet above ground. Ground is about 40 feet above lake level. At lake level it
is about 5-10 miles over to land ... so perhaps this will all work.

hopefully these links will appear :
The KB0THN-2 APRS weather station is also at my cabin, so you can visit
aprsworld and get maps of where I'll be:

And for the curious, I have some madeline photos at:

and KB0THN-2 solar wx station photos at:

Sounds like fun! (will be in FN02 till sun)

Matt
