I want to thank the dozen or so of you who replied to my email. I =
will be out in the shed/shack tonight playing radio, starting at 0100Z. =
I will also be available the rest of the week. Contact me via email if =
you want to set up a sked. If you have already proposed a sked, I have =
responded.
I am curious to see how well I can connect with NLRS'ers on 50, 144 =
and 432 in advance of the contest. Because this whole station is *very* =
new, I have no idea what is or isn't possible. Besides that, I like to =
find out things for myself.
I can tell y'all/youse (choose one) that I made SSB contact with =
Bill, K0AWU in EN37 this afternoon about 2230-45Z. It wasn't pretty, =
but we got the job done. 800w on his end and my barefoot 100w on my =
end. If Bill can do it, so can you! Bill estimates it was 360 miles =
between us and I know most of you are at least 100 miles closer.
I do not have my CW skills ready for the radio. It's strictly the =
mic for me for at least the next few months. (Yes, I want to learn and =
yes, I know it makes weak-signal work easier, hi)
I will be around 144.200, 50.125 and 432.100 for the rest of the =
evening, with my beams pointed anywhere from 270 to 315 degrees. I have =
2 stacks of beams at 110' on 144, 222 and 432. My 222 transverter is =
not here yet but I will be QRV on that band soon. I have a single 5 el =
beam at 100' on 50 mhz.
I have no computer in the shed/shack as of now.
Listening WNW,
