I don't agree with their analysis. Its probably true that clubs cause
logs to be sent as a club effort, but the biggest impediment I've seen
is ARRL rules that seem to demand keeping a special log in their special
computer format, not in the ARRL log book on paper like I've been doing
for 47 years. I know that causes me to neglect sending in a log most of
the time. Doing the log on paper (to quiet noisy computers as much as
anything) and then doing it again after the contest has consumed most of
a weekend is asking for more time than life gives for the contest.
I've heard it claimed that they will accept a xerox copy of the paper
log, but I've not tried that lately. All I see in the rules is CABRILO
or forget it. So I forget.
