John, KC0LBT and I installed the antenna's on the truck today before the temp's
dropped. We also got started on installing the radio's, amps etc.
Thanks to Gary, W0GHZ. He is again loaning us his portable 2304 system. As a
result will have 6 through 2304. We will have good power and beams on all bands
except of 6
I have been unhappy with the performance of my 6 meter loop antenna. The new 6
meter antenna is a V dipole at the top of the mast, hopefully it will work
better than the loop. We will see.
We will be running 10 grids. 33,23,24,25,34 on Saturday afternoon/evening and
35,36,46,45,44 on Sunday. More or less in that order, possibly moving 34 to
Sunday instead of Saturday. We are still finalizing the plan.
I received my factory assembled DEMI 902 transverter and 40 watt amplifier from
Frenchtown on Tuesday. I finished putting the pieces together yesterday and we
ran it at Gary's this morning, everything looks ready. With less leaves on the
trees and more smoke behind 902 we have a good shot at working from 46 and it
should be a chip shot from 45.
Either John or I will post a detailed schedule to the reflector later this week.
73, Jon
