Hello NLRS land. Four items for your attention.

1. Its time to get the 2004/2005 States Above operating event in gear.
As we all know, the primary purpose of this year long operating event,
sponsored by the CSVHF Society, is to promote activity on the bands above
50 MHz. Here in NLRS land we have been using this tool to add a little
fun to the club activities. Full rules, including forms, can be found at
http://www.csvhf.org or just ask. So by this email I am making the first
request for state totals for this years event. Send me your state totals
by band by August 30th and I will post them by the 31st.

2. September 7th is the deadline for UHF contest log submissions. If
you have not done so as of yet, get your logs in. We put a lot of work
into the UHF contest and Rovermania, lets show it by submitting our logs.
If anyone has any questions about how to submit, just ask. Now is a good
time to add a soapbox too.

3. And speaking of contests, the ARRL September VHF contest is Sept 11
and 12th. In past years we have had some really fun conditions with
tropo and even some seasonally rare E and aurora. W0ZQ will be operating
from home (if I can get my station back together) with of goal of getting
3456 up on the tower. What are other op's doing for September ?

4. The Hepburn Tropo Index looks pretty good for us over the next couple
of days .... better than it has in a long time. Time to add to your
States Above counts !

73, Jon
W0ZQ
