Hi All -
Not sure if I'll get anything else out to the group. I think we're on
autopilot right now! Just pray for good weather, good driving conditions for the
rovers and good propagation!
We'll have 13+ rovers out on the roads for the contest. What an
accomplishment! I believe that John will get all the plans up on the webpage. I'll send
out a last minute update tomorrow morning to those who asked for the schedules.
Please look up and down the band for all the rovers and work them as often as
you can. If my figuring is right, you could make over 700 Q's if you worked
the rovers on all bands. I think you can work over 125 Q's on 222 & 432
alone! That's more than people usually make in the whole contest on all bands!
Please look for me before the start of the contest in EN05. I'll be testing
my set up and checking out beam headings, etc. I'll be calling on 222.070 and
432.070 before the contest. I'll also be looking for other rovers before the
contest.
My plan is to get to a grid and call CQ on my two freqs. I may actually
start out on 432.070 and then move to 222.070. I'll then run up and down the band
looking for the other rovers. I'll return to my freq and call some more. If
I fall behind I will get word to as many other stations as I can.
We will all need to cooperate to make this all work. There will be times
when there is a "log jam" for a rover in a new grid. We'll need patience and
cooperation to make sure everyone works as many people as possible. I know that
I will be in "run and gun" mode and will not rag chew until I have worked
everyone.
GOOD LUCK to all. Please remember to keep a log, even if you make only one
QSO. The more logs we turn in, the more heads we'll be able to turn!
73's to all.
