I wonder if anyone has looked at the Buena Vista Park in Alma,
Wisconsin? It's up on a bluff overlooking the river valley, a
little southeast of Wabasha. I've never been there myself, but
my wife was there about a month ago and said that there was a
nice, unobstructed view. It looks somewhat promising on TopoUSA
also.

We're planning to go there for a little "field trip" today, so
perhaps I can be more specific when I get back. I plan to bring
my GPS, compass, and camera, so if it looks promising, maybe I
will shoot a series of panoramic shots to give folks an idea of
what the horizon looks like in every direction. (Ah, the joys
of digital photography and re-usable recording media!)

At best, I might be able to cobble together a 2M FM temporary
setup, with a better antenna than I had during the 2nd weekend
of the 10 GHz contest, when I was almost impossible to hear
further away than a couple of kilometers. Still no 10 GHz stuff
on this end.

73 and good luck to those going out today
