[NLRS] Power supply question

My astron RS-70A seems to do a good job with the TE1450G (TE says it
needs 55A .. continuous rating of the RS-70 is 57A). For a typical
150-180W brick the RS-35A seemed to work well. I always used 2 - one
for the transceiver and another for the brick. My new rig has it's
own supply as does the '736 so I parted with both of the RS-35A's a
couple of months ago. The astrons seem OK but are HEAVY. I do use
an SS-18 for the microwave bricks outside that works great. Never
had an issue with hash on any band. I wish astron would build a
larger SS power supply - think the biggest now is SS-30.. guess they
claim it to be equal to the RS-35 - I would question that claim. So
that's my .02$. The good news is that there should be plenty of used
power supplies out there for under $100. I have seen RS-35's going
for $90 (including shipping) - a little higher at Dayton last week..
(like everything at Dayton). Good luck on the hunt!
