A folded dipole feed to a yagi is rarely as high as 300 ohms. Most
likely 200 ohms if a DL6WU design (get G3SEK's book, The VHF/UHF DX
book) for DL6WU design details. Many other yagi designs have a much
lower folded dipole impedance so they need a T match to raise the feed
impedance to 200 ohms for using the 4:1 balun.
DL6WU designs are most forgiving of construction tolerances and work
quite well.
And there's no easy 6:1 balun for VHF.
