Well as I mentioned in my last message this is the first time I've done a
contest for "real"
i.e. more than just getting on for a few Qs. I sent in my log at got the
old rejecto
QSO: 222 PH 2003-01-20 0400 W0VNE EN34 W0JT
EN34
Line 145 was discarded. Invalid date and time. The contest took
place from 1900Z on 2003-01-18 through 0359Z on 2003-01-20.
Now, my first reaction was Oh! Yeah that was too late but I looked at the
rules on the ARRL web page
ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes--1900Z Jan 18-0400Z Jan 20, see p 95, Dec 2002
QST
To me that means 1900Z Jan 18 through 0400Z Jan 20. Then later I see
2. Date and Contest Period: The weekend before the NFL Super Bowl. Begins
1900 UTC Saturday, ends 0400 UTC Monday (January 18-20, 2003).
This seems to imply (as the Robot says ends AT 0400.
Dan from ARRL wrote
Jay: If the contest period ends at 0400, that means the last valid minute
for a QSO would be 0359, since 0400 is not considered as part of the contest
period.
Ok, well just food for thought next time not that I'm worked up about it.
